Anyway, as a result of a bunch of e-mails and suggestions here on the OLF, I'm working on plans right now for my radius jig, and hope to have them finished in another week or so. If you would like to be added to the list for them, please send me a PM or e-mail.

I've also started adding templates for Paul Woolson's/Charles Fox's tenon jig for those of you who purchased the plans and are not interested in making the templates.

Hi Michael,
I just went back to that project, and was thinking about trying to cut down the size/cost of it and making it just a slotting machine that can be used with any Dremel/rotary tool. I'm not sure how much interest there was in the inlay portion of it, and keeping that in complicates matters a bit more.
I'll let you know once I get a little further along. Right now I'm caught up in doing parts and plans (as you know takes time!)

The inlay was what I wanted it for. dag nap it! . I have built one using drawer slide rails and am not too happy with the motion sensitivity. If you are not going to offer it I will build one using liner motion rails and bearing blocks.

What slides were you using? KVs have a nice sliding motion and have more ball bearings per square inch than Accurides and others.

The way the slotting jig is being remade will still allow for freehand inlay work. The inlay template mechanism may come along later, I'll have to see.

Just busting em Craig ...hey, you have a great machine...I hope you get top dollar for the plans. I don't understand why you are selling them( the plans)...but that's just my 2 cents. I'd Let em mess up a few dozen fret boards and then they'll be knocking your door down to buy a machine. Sell em the plans...well...you know. But that's just the lousy Son Of a Bland I am. I am a real S.O.B.

Dave, I think you have fallen off your rocker. Been out in the sun a little too long down there?
It seems there are others who enjoy building their own jigs. That, or they can't afford the investment in buying one, which is certainly understandable. But anyway, thanks for your....um....opinion? Guess I won't have you market the plans for me!

I know...I know...I know...but I thought you wanted to sell machines not the plans? ... Yea I've been off my rocker for a while now . The Sun is realy unbearable...so hot...makes you want to stay in the 82deg. pool all day...just sipping those frozen margaritas...all kidding aside...the hummidity is starting to get to me after 23yrs here. I am still waiting to aclimate. I guess I can never be a "real" southerner...certainly never a "southern gentleman". I'll always be a "transplant". I need a vacation some place cold...Tacoma sure does sound nice this time of the year...are you going?

Dave: given that shipping on Craigs indubitably excellent jig cost only a little less than the jig itself, the plan is an excellent alternative for me. So, yeah, thanks Craig!

Dave, since I've started this endeavor, I have ventured off in a number of different directions. I thought I would just be doing jigs, but now have gotten into parts, some repair work, and CAD drawings...all a direct result of the radius jig, so I guess you need to go wherever life takes you. But don't worry, Dave, you will always be my first... ...uh, I mean, ('cause you were the first one to use a couple of my jigs)

And Mattia, I feel bad for all you guys overseas because of the shipping prices, so, anything I can do to help. Maybe, deliver it personally?

Wow...your "first"! I feel like I need a cigarette or something (I don't smoke). First Brock is talking about "yanking my chain". Now this...what is going on with this place? This is getting to be one "saucey little place". Now if Goomps comes back with something similar...I am out of here!

p.s. Craig, I don't think you were my first, but let me just say "it felt like the first time" for me too! Thanks my friend.
